Larry Ray Danner

Larry Ray Danner, 69, of Portland, PA, passed away Monday, October 28th, at his residence.

Larry was born in Pen Argyl, PA on October 17, 1950, a son of the late Richard F. and Dorothy A. (Horchack) Danner.

He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Hurd) Danner. They celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary last December.  Larry was employed as a machine operator at the former Apex Texicon in Upper Mt. Bethel Twp., PA, for 34 years, until retiring in 2006.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the Vietnam War.  Larry enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles and was an avid guitar player.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, Larry is survived by three daughters, Heather Danner, Melissa Lynn Scott, wife of George, Michelle Elizabeth Stevens and her fiance Brian, two sons, Danial Matthew Zeigafuse, husband of Sherri, Michael Danner, husband of Erin, a brother, Richard F. Danner, 17 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.  Larry is preceded in death by a sister Rita Riley and a brother David Danner.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 9th at Refiner's Fire Ministry, 100 Division Street, Portland, PA with Pastor Phil Karaseiwicz officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 1 - 2 PM on Saturday, November 9th at the church.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA.
