Not sure what to say?

Betty and Family, Larry was like a brother to the Tunells, he was only one year older than Steve--and Steve always said--"mom liked you the best"! He was so kind and thoughtful to the whole family. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you Betty. Love, Suzanne Tunell

Dear Betty and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. It is not often that students "sing the praises" of a teacher, but then not many touch the lives of their students like Larry did. Larry was very dedicated and yet caring and down-to-earth. I worked with him as editor of the Fielder during the first year he was its sponsor. I enjoyed his wit and wisdom and celebrate his life with pleasant memories.

Larry was one of my favorite teachers at PHS. He made algebra fun, even for a math-phobe like me. We knew that he really cared about us. He was a special friend of the Class of 1966. I'm sorry that I'll miss the memorial service, but we will be out of town.

Our deepest sympathy to the family. He was a wonderful man, teacher, and expecially the memories we have working together on the yearbook '72, our trip to Dallas senior year, and as a friend. He inspired all of us to be the best we can and will always be remembered in our hearts.

Mr. Ellis was a very important influence on me. All the students enjoyed his presence on the German trip in 1973. My condolences to his family.

Betty & family, I'm so very sorry for your loss of such a wonderful man. I echo the sentiments expressed by so many others here. Mr. Ellis was a superb teacher who truly cared enough to inspire and challenge young minds. I still use many of the math short-cuts he taught me, and I'm grateful he was always willing to be an employment reference for me throughout my careers. "Uncle Lar" was one of our Class Advisors for the Class of '70, chaperone of our class trip, and author...

What a tremendous teacher and a great individual. "Uncle Lar" and "Bert" made the senior year for the Class of "7-0" something special. The teaching profession has lost a "Hall of Famer". Thanks for having such a positive influence on us. You will be missed but not forgotten.

Betty, on behalf of the Class of 1966 I want to express our deepest sympathy to you & your family. Larry was a wonderful person & great teacher who really cared about his students & his community. He was a special friend to the Class of 1966. We will miss him at our reunions.

For a fellow teacher.....a great man..loving person!
