Larry and I were on the same Gun for awhile, Gun 4, and I always enjoyed his style of humor. I remember the night he was hit and the last time I saw him. Woody and I were running by when he called out and we stopped to see if we could help. We could not do much more as "doc" had already seen to him and we needed to deal immediatly with the enemy who were getting by us. That conversation we had with Larry, even as bad as he was hurt, kept us laughing for months and I have always remembered him...

For Larry's family I send personal regards and wish there were a way I could help ease the pain you are suffering. As we Marine comrades sometimes say "Larry was one of the Good Guys." The fact that Larry survived LZ Torch and came home to have a family and live for 39 more years must give you a sense of peace, even though it hurts.
