Not sure what to say?

Larry was a good man. Im sure he is enjoying his eternal reward for his kindness and helpfulness in this life. Rest In Peace, Larry!

I was Larry's roommate in Army
flight school and convinced him to stay in the program and we both served in the 1st Cav in Vietnam. My email is [email protected]

Larry Shemley was one of the good guys! I worked with Larry in MIS at Cenlar back in the mid-90s, and he was a special man - always a smile and a story - always willing to help anyone who needed it. When I came back to Cenlar in 2013 after a 16-year absence, I was so happy to see Larry again! I know that he suffered much and it's good he is out of pain, but I will miss him. I won't be able to make it to his "Celebration of Life" on August 16th, but my thoughts and prayers are with his loved...

Rest in Peace, Brother. I hope your family will find comfort and accept my sincere condolences.
Crew chief #648-The Cherry Buster.

Larry was a good neighbor of ours. We always enjoyed listening to his stories. Our prayers go out to Nancy, his family and the "Brothers" he served with. We will miss you Larry.

Wil&Nan

I served with Larry in the 1st Air Cavalry Division in Vietnam in 1970. I often flew as his co-pilot on UH-1H "Huey" helicopters in the 229th Assault Helicopter Battalion -- and learned an awful lot from him. Of all the various aircraft commanders I flew with, the Cav Jester was one of the coolest under fire. He was a real Skytrooper and will be sadly missed by his brothers-in-arms.

I just learned of Larry's struggles and his passing. I will always remember the smiling face of the "Cav Jester." Larry and I served together as helicopter pilots in the 1st Cav Div in Vietnam so many years ago when we were both so young! All of those guys are friends for life even if we don't see each other often. My hope is that his family can find peace and comfort and look forward to the day when you will be with Larry again.

My sincere condolences to your family. He spoke so proudly of all of you. Larry had accomplished so much in is lifetime and always shared his experiences to us. His stories were so interesting. He had such passion for life and he will truly be missed. Now he can rest.

My condolences to the family and friends of Larry. I met him when we worked at Ronson Aviation. Many a good time was had with all of the helicopter crew at work and many a great nite was had by all at "Don Young's" I will always cherish the memories of Ronson and all of us that worked and played together. Nobody could ever forget Larry's mustache!!!
