I just discovered Lena passed away. I picked up the phone recently to call my dear old friend of more than 30 years. All numbers were disconnected and I became very worried. To find out that Lena has passed is so shocking and my heart is ever so heavy for Lena who loved life, jokes and love. My dear friend you will be in my thoughts and prayers . I love you, Juliette Marolda Scofield

My condolences to Lena's family, although I knew her for only a short time we became very close. She was a very happy person and I admire that about her. I am just very sorry I did not get to fix her hair one last time and do the highlights that she wanted so much. She will always be in my heart and I'm truly sadden that she's no longer here with us. I will always remember her as the happy sweet hearted lady that she was.

Taken at my open house

I am so sad to hear of Lena. She was a very special lady that I have known for over 20 years and have had so many fun memories of our visits and trips to the Houston Rodeo! She was the most kind, sincere, positive, proud Italian woman and our many conversations will be so missed. Of course a lot of our conversations were with such laughter! She had the best smile I have ever seen! Will greatly be missed. My prayers are with her family.

Marianna and family, I was deeply sadden and shocked when my mom (Theresa Martino O'Grady) called with the very sad news, unexpected passing of Lena Jane. Lena was truly one of a kind! A sweet soul, wonderful personality, a smile and laugh that lit-up a roomwhen Lena Jane was around, laughter was had by all! I know without a doubt, my mom will miss Lena very much. Lena's daily phone calls, witty jokes, asking mom's advice on this-n-that and of course, the many, many laughs they shared!! There...

Lena could tell some stories, like no other. I would come to her house & talk for hours. She was just a wonderful classy lady. She taught me alot. Heaven is having a ball now. My heart just broke, when I heard she passed. She would give u the shirt off her back. Love you Lena Jane. Your manicurist.

Lena is one of my greatest friends and my life won't be the same. An inspiring Angel has been removed from the world as we know.
We, Peter and I, are saddened that we won't be there to celebrate this beautiful soul.
Lena and I, on last Saturday had made arrangements for lunch upon our return from Canada. Sunday we received the saddest news.
Marianna, although we haven't met, I feel close to you spiritually.
We are praying that GOD holds you and your Family closer during...

Lena Jane was a shining bright star in our lives. Myself and her other classmates of oh so long ago still speak of her with love. We first met in the first grade at St. Joseph's Elementary and have been lifelong friends for all these years. I remember, like it was just last week, those Saturday Double Features at the Yale Theater when in between the shows there would be a talent show and anytime Lena would enter she would win. Even at such a young age you could tell she had a gift of singing....
