Leola was my aunt, but was more like the older sister I never had. Her compassion and caring was a driving force in our family's foundation for many years. She loved her family and was willing to stand up against anybody who would jeopardize the welfare of any of her loved ones. Leola Dordine Baker, 58, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, died January 21 at John Hopkins Hospital.

She was born September 8, 1952 to the late Ella Neal and Frank Makell, Sr.. Also preceded in death by her son Lawrence Baker, Jr.
