My dear sweet Uncle. I never knew how to take you, serious or sweet, but I think behind that Marine fassad you were a sweet gentle giant. I wasn't in contact with you for many years while you were coaching softball and basketball. Later in these past few years I would see you and just recently, after dad passed away, you were always worried where mom was and why wasn't she calling you. You wanted every phone number you could think of. I was so impressed how you took on the concerned big brother when mom did not call you back. I was relieved to know I wasn't the only one trying to track her down. You did this even when you were sick. You never talked about your illness only other material things that meant something to you. You were a fighter and it was admirable. I know you were fond of Jennifer and that meant alot to me. Perhaps you were being a little bias since she was the rep for Novartis and she also knew alot about Diabetes which you had. I appreciate the concern you had for me with my faith and you understood why I left the Catholic Church. You knew enough to leave it alone after you gave me the information I should know about but when I said "no" that was it. End of subject. You were funny and I loved being there with you on such a good night when mom and I arrived the Saturday before you passed away. Say "hi" to Grandma, Dad, Nanny and Auntie Barbara and I love them. I love you and will miss you.
I will read Psalm 23 at your funeral.

When I said goodby to my brother little did I know it was going to be the last Goodby. I am sad I will never talk to him but I am grateful he has no more pain. He has gone to a place I call Heaven.I will make sure thru my prayer to Our Blessed Mother he is on board. Rest in peace my brother til we meet again. Your loving sister Lauretta

We wish we could be there to celebrate the life of this very special man. He was always so friendly and outgoing. He was full of life and spunk, and he will be missed.

I wish there were a way to contact all of the people whose lives he touched when he coached and refereed sports. Not only do I know firsthand what a great coach he was, but how much he inspired girls and boys to be the best they could be. I remember how much my Bobby-Sox softball teammates ("his girls" as he'd call them) meant to him and how much they admired and respected and loved him as a coach and someone who believed in them & would inspire them all.

Through sports and competition, he helped so many kids develop self-confidence, morals, ethics and the courage to break through & go beyond the barriers we place on ourselves; not only on the field, but in life as well. I am a stronger person and a survivor because of the lessons I've learned in life from my Dad, Len Duncan.
