Not sure what to say?

Leonard was my composition teacher and friend at SUNY Albany. When we first met - our first lesson -he had asked me to write counterpoint using cantus firmus as the bass line. As a new student, I wanted to impress my professor. When we reviewed the work, he began smiling then laughing - I asked him what was wrong, was the work not good enough. He laughed even harder and said, I have never had a student write so many pieces. I had written over 75 pieces for our second meeting trying to...

For anyone who is on Facebook, please see the page I have created in memory of our beloved friend Leonard Kastle...I encourage anyone who knew him to join and share memories and stories if you wish. (It is the page with the color photo of him, not the "wikipedia page"). Many thanks... God Bless you Leonard...you are always in our hearts and minds...

Leonard learned (and taught so many) from Mary, the mother of God, that our response to God's offer of unlimited Grace is always a deep and profound YES!
He will be missed at St. Michael's, where he performed so admirably for many years.

I have known Mr. Kastle for many years by helping him care for his many pets. He was a kind and generous man who very much enjoyed his canine companions and would do whatever it took to keep them healthy including feeding a special kangaroo diet to Annchen. Everyone at our office enjoyed our interactions with Mr. Kastle. He will be missed by his human and animal friends.

My dearest Leonard,it was my greatest pleasure and a blessing in life to of known such a wonderful man, you've taught me what true friendship and true love is about and I love you with all my heart and soul and the pAiN that I carry will eventually subside do to all the memories that we shared through the years. I no that that god has you in a better place and one day we shall meet again until then my deepest love always Tina ( your sweet litte angel)

I met Leonard through my father, in 1990. He truly was a genius, an artist and an aesthete. He taught me about the symphonic form, and about the meaning of beauty. And, oh, did he love his many dogs over the years!

I'm so sorry I did not get to say goodbye to him. He will be missed.
