To Honor the Memory of

Lionel G. "Bud" Reed

Mr. Lionel G. "Bud" Reed, age 83, of Pleasant, Indiana, entered this life on December 12, 1924, in Jefferson County, Indiana, the son of Leslie Carlisle & Maude (Peters) Reed, both of whom preceded him in death. He was raised in Moorfield & attended Central High School. He was united in marriage on August 4, 1945, in Anniston, Alabama, to Antoinette L. "Tootsie" Gray & to this union arrived two sons & a daughter to bless their home. They had resided in the Pleasant Community the past 25 years where they made & maintained many friends. Bud was inducted in the United States Army on May 16, 1945, in Indianapolis, Indiana, serving during World War II & received the World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on November 24, 1945, at Fort McClellan, Alabama. Bud drove a milk truck at the age of 16 for his father on their daily milk route throughout the county. Bud had farmed all of his life & was employed as an engineer for 30 years, retiring in 1987, at the Madison State Hospital in Madison, Indiana, where he worked in Civil Defense also. On Saturdays, Bud kept busy working for Dicus Farm Supply in Hanover for over 15 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church & the Vevay American Legion Post #185. After his retirement he enjoyed making tobacco knives for the local farmers & mowing lawns for his neighbors. Bud died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 11:48 am at Jewish Hospital in Louisville KY.

A LOVING FAMILY
Bud will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Antoinette L. "Tootsie" Reed of Pleasant, Indiana; his sons: George Edwin Reed & his wife: Marilyn of Bennington, Indiana; James Leslie Reed of Bennington, Indiana; his daughter: Rose Marie Covington & her husband: Mark of Florence, Indiana; his grandchildren: Bob, Angie, Amy, J.D., Travis & Cheyenne; his step-granddaughter: Tracy Dawn; his great-grandchildren: Cierra, Lauren, Blake, Clay, Trevor Wayne & Jackie; his sisters: Gloria Smith of Seymour, Indiana; Ramona Todd of Madison, Indiana; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leslie Carlisle & Maude (Peters) Reed; his sisters: Illena Anderson & Fern Cole; his brother: Richmond Reed.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 30, 2008 at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Ronald Sandidge at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.

VISITATION
Friends may call 5:00-8:00 pm, Saturday, November 29, 2008, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana.

SPECIAL SERVICES
Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the honor guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 & the Vevay VFW Post #5396

MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS
Memorial contributions may be made to Madison Dialysis Center. Cards are available at the funeral home.
