Lionel Sanchez was kind hearted, humble, and funny. Lionel loved to make people laugh. He is a beloved brother, son, uncle, cousin, and friend. He graduated a proud Blade and broke many records in cross country. He was a proud Marine and was later honorably discharged due to blindness. Lionel went to many rehabilitation centers for the blind and gave strength to so many people. He managed two businesses very successfully. He loved to talk for hours, he had many stories to tell.
He would want us to be happy that he is now in heaven with his mom, his dad, his sister, his brother, so many friends, and he can see now.
Lionel is survived by a sister, nieces and nephews, a great nephew, aunts and uncles, and many friends.
Services will be held 4/29/16 at 10am, Hilcrest.

I first met Lionel at a Jr High cross country meet and later was proud to be a classmate at East High. I have only fond memories of our friendship.

Life at East High was an everlasting memory for me. So many memories of Sports and classes and people. Unfortunately I lost touch with Lionel after that but I'll never forget how he was always cutting up. He was strong and intense in sports. A face and friend we all saw every single day. My prayers and condolences go out to Frank and the family. I will never forget him.

I haven't seen Lionel since high school. I could never keep up with him in Cross Country. Always had a sense of humor and a cool 'hey Cheryl' whenever our paths crossed. I send my sincere prays to my old class mate of 1981. Peace and Blessings to you all.
