Lizzetta Buchele, age 94, of Twin Brooks passed away January 11, 2012, at Milbank Area Hospital – Avera Health. Funeral services will be Monday, January 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Milbank. Rev. Mark Phillips will officiate and burial will be in the Milbank Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home and continue Monday at the church, one hour prior to the service. The organist will be Sandy Tucholke with vocal music by Tim Jurgens. Casket bearers will be her grandsons: Douglas Dittes, Timothy Dittes, Jonathan Buchele, Nathaniel Buchele, Jason Jurgens, Christopher Jurgens, Scott Buchele, Chance Stribling, Joshua Kruse, Jordan Kruse, Andrew Buchele, and Patrick Karsky. Honorary bearers will be her granddaughters, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren: Brenda Kavanagh, Michele Rader, Kimberly Haugen, Melanie Buchele, Nicole Buchele, Erin Karsky, Dylan Dittes, Riley Dittes, Briana Dittes, Jourdan Erickson, Haylee Buchele, Toryn Buchele, Troy Winge, Brock Jurgens, Wyatt Jurgens, Haley Ehlebracht, Grant Rader, Madison Haugen, Jack Haugen, Lucas Haugen, Mason Torgeson and Teagen Dittes. Lizzetta Delia (Westphal) Buchele was born September 13, 1917, in Summit, SD. She was the daughter of Gustav and Annie (Driessen) Westphal. She lived in Chicago, IL for two years where she worked for the WPA. She was united in marriage with Harry C. Buchele on June 30, 1939, in Redfield, SD. Lizzetta and Harry lived in Twin Brooks, SD where they raised their nine children. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Milbank. Harry passed away January 28, 1985. Lizzetta enjoyed playing cards, gardening, working outdoors and living on her farm. She loved her family and looked forward to their visits. She was a devoted mother, and she especially cherisher grandchildren and their families. Lizzetta Buchele is survived by her children: Harriet Dittes of Prinsburg, MN; Gary (Jeanette) Buchele of Aberdeen, SD; Donna (Tim) Jurgens of Milbank, SD; Melvin (Lisa) Buchele of Omaha, NE; Mary Ellen Buchele of Milbank, SD; Lynell Buchele of Aurora, CO; Deanna (Steve) Kruse of Minnetonka, MN; Gregg (Michelle) Buchele of Milbank, SD; Larry (Karen) Buchele of Johnston, IA; 18 grandchildren: Douglas Dittes; Brenda (Joel) Kavanagh; Timothy (Jodi) Dittes; Jonathan and Nathaniel Buchele; Jason (Kathy) Jurgens; Michele (John) Rader; Kimberly (Shane) Haugen; Christopher Jurgens; Melanie and Scott Buchele; Chance Stribling; Joshua and Jordan Kruse; Nicole and Andrew Buchele; Erin and Patrick Karsky; 14 great-grandchildren: Dylan, Riley, and Briana Dittes; Jourdan Erickson; Haylee and Toryn Buchele; Troy Winge; Brock and Wyatt Jurgens; Haley Ehlebracht; Grant Rader; Madison, Jack, and Lucas Haugen; and 2 great-great-grandchildren: Mason Torgeson and Teagen Dittes; her sister: Anna Hanson Beaver of Oregon (recently deceased); Sisters-in-law: Delores Nelson of Sioux Falls, SD, and Idora Westphal of Tupolo, MI. Preceding Lizzetta in death are her husband; her parents; her brothers and sisters: John, August, Albert, Louis, Rudolph, Loraf, Marie, Louise, Josephine, Esther, and Emma; her Great Grandsons: Jonathon Erickson and Anthony Dittes.
