CLINTON
Lois C. (Malone) Kingsbury, 88, died Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at River Terrace Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Lancaster, following a period of declining health.
7/1/1933 – 11/24/2021. It’s all about the “dash” in between the dates and Lois lived it well. She grew up in several MA towns; Grafton, Bolton and Boylston, and even worked with her Dad, Pappy Malone, on the Civil Air Patrol at Bolton Airport. After graduating from the David Hale Fanning Trade High School in Worcester she became a licensed Hairdresser for a few years, but upon trying to change careers, she had friends that had her style their hair at their homes due to her very special knack of razor cuts. Lois found that she enjoyed working with the public and worked in several varying specialty retail establishments, retiring from the House of Lingerie in Acton in 1996.
Lois lit up the room. She loved people and always made everyone feel special whether at her job, at her home, or any gathering she attended. She loved to dance the Polka in her younger years and once broke her foot doing so! The ocean was always she and Bob’s favorite getaway. They were always a “team” celebrating their 69th anniversary on 9/27/21. When they first retired, they enjoyed several winters accompanying her sister and brother-in-law, Matt and Ruth Featherstone, experiencing Branson Mo., Fort Myers, FL, and Sanibel Island, FL. She and Bob’s other favorite places were Wells Beach, Maine, where they had a summer camp for 20 years, and the back patio at their inviting Ridgefield Condo for over 30 years. She was a friend to all and made special memories for all she met.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Robert P. Kingsbury now in Ayer, MA, their daughter Debra S. Kingsbury & partner Bill Baylis of Vershire, VT, her sister Ruth Featherstone of Ballwin, MO, step-brother David (Mert) Libby of Boylston and loved nieces, Eileen, Cindy, Diane & Pam, and very loved nephew, Steve Malone and wife Linda of Lexington, MA and their extended families, dear friends Eleanor Chabot of Auburn, MA, Peggy Hines of Clinton, MA. and Don and Mary Kadlik of Hudson, MA.
With special thanks and appreciation to her devoted and loving CNA, Laurie, in the SCU at River Terrace in Lancaster, MA and the entire wonderful and caring staff.
Funeral Services are private. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Lois, to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.act.alz.org
