LTC (Ret) James Ethan Beasley

James Ethan Beasley, of Southside, Tennessee, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 16, 2025, following an extended illness. He leaves behind a legacy of service and love that will be cherished by many.

James was born and raised in Gallatin, Tennessee before going on to dedicate 31 years of faithful service to his country as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army. His notable commitment included his service during the Gulf War, participating in Operations Desert Shield and Storm. With over 27 years in the Signal Corps, James exemplified what it meant to be a Patriot, consistently placing God, Family, and Country at the forefront of his life. A natural leader, his life of service not only reflected his character but also inspired those that served in the military as well as non-military acquaintances.

In addition to his military career, James was fervently passionate about his hobbies. He embraced the world of R/C boats, traveling all over with his beloved wife, Marcia, to connect with fellow enthusiasts. Within that community, he earned the endearing title of "Tunnel King." His interests extended beyond this hobby; he enjoyed fishing and had a deep love for classic cars. An accomplished mechanic, James took pride in maintaining the family's vehicles, often welcoming family members to "Dad's garage" for their auto maintenance and repair needs. He was a member of Rye’s Chapel Church.

James is survived by his devoted wife, Marcia Beasley, and their loving children, Melissa Martinez (Mario) and Neil Beasley. He was also a proud grandfather to Mikayla (Austin), Elayna (Jacob), and Ethan, and delighted in his great-grandchildren, Lionel and Madelyn Grace. Other survivors include his siblings, Michael Wright, Suzanne Freeland, Penny Freeland, and Judy Spain and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends sprinkled all over the country. Preceding him in death were his parents, Bill and Samma Hickerson Wright, who instilled in him the values he carried throughout his life.

Family and friends are invited to honor the life of James Beasley during a visitation on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, located at 1209 Madison St, Clarksville, Tennessee, 37040. A service honoring James’ life will follow from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, where those who knew and loved him can come together to remember the remarkable man he was. He will be laid to rest following the service with Full Military Honors at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. His longtime friend, Chaplain Ray Alexander, will officiate. James Beasley will be dearly missed, and his spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
