Lucio Cabatic Obituary



Lucio "Lus" Radam Cabatic Feb. 13, 1925 - Feb. 10, 2007 Lucio Radam Cabatic of Austin, Texas, formerly of Dededo, Guam and originally from Alaminos, Pangasinan, Philippines was called to his eternal rest on February 10, 2007 at the age of 81. Lucio was born in the Philippines. As the eldest child he enjoyed farming and fishing with his Grandfather. He moved to Manila and lived with his aunt and uncle. There he enrolled with the university and majored in the Medical field. His uncle inspired him to pursue an accounting profession which eventually led to a job in 1949 on Okinawa with the Civil Service. On Okinawa, he worked for the Fiscal Accounting Division of the Army Motor Transportation at Naha Port and later transferred to the Air Force Comptroller's Office in Kadena Air Base. In 1972, he moved to Guam, continued his accounting career in the private sector and later completed his Civil Service tenure with the Navy Ship Repair Facility. Lucio retired in 1996 and settled in Austin, Texas near his daughter. He enjoyed teaching, bowling, swimming, gardening and being outdoors with "Momo". Lucio is predeceased by his parents, Juan R. and Susana R. Cabatic; his brother, Camilo R. Cabatic; his children Romeo J. Cabatic and Norma C. Gleason. Lucio is survived by his wife, Fujiko Yogi Cabatic (Austin, Texas); children and their spouses, Klarita C. & Alden Doesburg (Guam), Mila & Wayne Kaauamo (Austin, Texas), Oscar R. & Barbara Cabatic (Okinawa); siblings and their spouses, Felisa R. C. & Bernardo Astronomia (Philippines), Bernardino & Pacita Radam (Staten Island, New York), Caridad R. & Armando Pulido (Hawaii), Teresita R. & Jose Guevara; grandchildren, Jason Bullard, Jeanette Miranda, Kristofer Kaauamo, Tami Kaauamo, Michael Gleason, Michelle Gleason, Markie Gleason, Tamiko Cabatic, Arik Cabatic, Samuel Cabatic, Alyssa Cabatic and Aubrie Cabatic; great grandchild, Jon Miranda. He is additionally survived by numerous relatives located in England, Canada, Okinawa, Philippines, Japan and the USA. Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2007 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Austin, Texas.
