Read MoreMr. Johnson was the outstanding teaching of all my schooling. I got to be in his first bands and orchestras at the old Chrisman High in Independence. For me, he was the thoroughly competent and ethical "music man" long before the movie came along. He'll always have my complete honor and respect.
