Dick and I became friends when we were children in the Bronx and have been in contact or part of each other's lives for nearly 60 years. Although I knew he was ill, the news of his death is devastating. My children (his honorary niece and nephew, Elizabeth (Nancy pants) and John and my husband Peter send our condolances.
