Kevin David McCarthy

I am grateful for having known Kevin, both in grammar school and then at AVCO. Kevin was full of spirit, had a contagious laugh filled with joy, and his stories were so funny, whether they had to do with guard dogs and steaks, and then there was the one with helium, ducktape, and the airport. I will fondly remember my time with him. My sympathies to brother Ed, son David and daughter Sheridan.

A beloved cousin...dear Edward, please know I am thinking of you. Too many losses this year, it makes my heart hurt. For some reason, I kept thinking Kev's daughter's name was Mercedes...it is Sheridan! Please send David and Sheridan my condolences. We're always here, you know, for you. Kathy

Dear Edward, and Kevin’s children, grandchildren, family and friends,

I am sad to learn of Kevin’s unexpected passing last Sunday. We grew up together in the Chester-Adams-Caroline Street neighborhood----we enjoyed the liberties of riding bikes, and roaming Warsaw Park, and the Hotchkiss woods up the hilltop of Ansonia and Woodbrigde for hours of adventure and fun; we explored the old Ansonia airport, Rod & Gun Club, and running through the corn fields and barns of Massaro’s...

Ed, David, Sheridan, Jonathan, family and friends...With heavy hearts we send to you our deepest and most sincere condolences, for a man that was taken from you far too early, but whose memory will live on forever. Kevin's smile is something that will never fade away nor will the love and happiness he brought to our lives. You were like another brother and I will miss your humor and attention to life's wonders. You symbolized the strength of life-long friendship with your many adventures with Scot. Kevin, you have been there for me since I was born, and I have ALWAYS considered you a second father. When my father passed, you were the one who stuck with us and comforted my whole family.
