Margie Lee Driggers Dowdy, 98, of Houston, Texas, passed away on 12-7-2018 in Pearland, Texas. She was born on 9-8-1920 in Troup, Texas.

Margie graduated from Bullard High School in Bullard, Texas. She married Woodrow Dowdy and they moved to Houston where they raised their family. She retired from J C Penney's and was a Sagemont Church member. She is survived and was adored by her daughters, Martha Holland, Glenda Parks, Jacalyn (Jerry) Epperson. Son Gerald (Sondra) Dowdy. Grandchildren Keith Holland, Cindy Melanson, Kenneth Ferrell, Carolyn Dowdy Victor, Jacalyn Kiser, Matthew Epperson, Amber Epperson Holloway, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and niece Charise Armstrong.

She is preceded in death by her
father and mother, William and Nollie Brown Driggers, husband Woodrow Dowdy, son, Wallace Dowdy, brothers Dewey and Billy Driggers, sisters, Amie Lee Driggers and Lillie Mae Dunn, son-in-laws, David Holland and Jim Parks, and Nephew Nicky Driggers.

Momma, aka Grandma, Memaw, Aunt Margie, loved life and her family. She was the best cook in the world, making homemade chicken and dumplings, fried fish (which she caught) banana pudding, chocolate pies, etc. She was most happy when her family sat at her kitchen table with full stomachs. She also loved gardening; growing tomatoes, onions, cabbage, turnip greens, etc. She had lemon, fig and pecan trees and she shared all her produce with family and neighbors. If she wasn't gardening she wanted to be fishing. She and daddy taught all us kids to fish. Night or day she was ready to go.
Tears are flowing because We miss her being gone. We look forward to seeing her again. We love you momma.
