Margie Marie Turner , age 83, was born August 4, 1934 in Hugo, OK, the daughter of William Calvin Brown and Izoria Dorthy (Linkswiler) Brown. She worked in Dallas for many years at a store that had a pharmacy, make up counter area, and food bar/restaurant.
Margie married Jack D. Turner on June 2, 1957 in Hugo while he was on leave and moved to Oxnard, CA to be closer to him. After moving back to the Hugo area, she worked at Jack's Quick Mart for several years before retiring to help take care of her aging mother. She did not have any children of her own, so she doted on all of her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She would give the children rides in the wheel barrow and host Easter Egg hunts when she could. Margie loved to quilt and even won ribbons entering her quilts in the county fairs.
The family was always very close knit – she bought a house across the street from her little sister and mother in order to stay close, then moved next door to her other sister when she sold that house.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Turner on December 19, 1975. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Berl Glaze and a sister, Pauline Davis.
