Marian Freiberg Kaufman

I visited Madrid in May. I thought about you all the time, Mar. There were many changes. I kept thinking of the streets and neighborhoods we walked together. I wanted to pick up the phone to call you. I visited with Antonio and Mari, their children, and grandchildren. We toasted you often, and remembered you fondly. Your love for Spain was always evident in all that you did. It seemed to give you strength as you battled your illness. I miss you my friend. Un abrazo, Karen

I extend my deepest condolences to Marian´s entire family. I was her "next door neighbor" at The Carlos V Hotel in Madrid. She stayed in Room 503, and I was in 504. We always planned to arrive on the same day. We talked incessantly over our adjoining balconies as we planned our daily activities and travels. It reminded Mar of a popular radio/TV show from the `40´s and `50´s. She was Molly Goldberg. Conversations began with, "Yoo- hoo Mrs. Goldberg." We shared so many wonderful escapades...
