Not sure what to say?

I haven't seen Mr. Morford in over twenty years and was thinking about him today, did an online search, and sadly came upon this obituary. He was one of my favorite professors in graduate school (though I'm not sure I ever finished a paper on Sallust I owed him). He was a very special man who encouraged me to study at UVA and taught me so much. Much love to his family and friends. I wish I had spoken to him more recently.

Mark and I had become close friends. I will miss him dearly.

Mark was a wonderfully engaging conversationalist, a humor-filled liberaldedicated to many great causes, and a wonderfully dedicated and loving father. He was a true mensch.

Mark was my professor and department chair at Ohio State University over 50 years ago. His scholarship and kindness have remained with me throughout my career. I've expressed my sorrow to his family and our mutual friends, and here I share my wife Jan's and my sadness with so many others who enjoyed his company and who worked and studied with him.

Dear Mark, I will miss your wisdom, your generous spirit, your presence next to me at concerts, your beautiful voice and warm hugs. Thank you so much for your years of friendship.

Oh, my dear friend, neighbor, and fellow musician. You will be missed by so many. You had a great run.

I will miss this brilliant, humble and kind man. I am saddened that I will not have the opportunity to see and talk with him at concerts or the piano connection. Rest in peace Mark.

Mark, we will miss you as a valuable and knowledgable member of the Hampshire Music Club. Sally Laubin

He died knowing that I loved him.
