Not sure what to say?

I will always remember her as Miss Wehrle, my gym teacher at Jahn in the '60s. Even though gym was my least favorite class because I was not athletic she never belittled me. She was always kind and patient and had a great smile. I took the classes in German too and still remember a few of the lessons. In my prayers.

This Saturday March 24th at St. Paul's House 3800 N California Ave. We will have a small gathering of friends and neighbors to remember Mrs. Marlene Frankel ( Wehrle ). From 2:00pm to 3:30pm.

To me forever you will always be Miss Wherle. My favorite teacher thru my years at Jahn. Gym class, and a chosen few of us for your German class. I still remember the first conversation you taught us! Not to mention a friend. The pride you showed in her Patrol group, amazing. You registered my 3 children when I transferred them to Jahn. We spent hours talking about the old days. A number of years later my daughter joined the Patrol and in her last year became the Captain. Mrs. Frankel...

From Mrs. Frankel's years teaching gym at Jahn School

Attending Jahn School from kindergarten to eighth grade, graduating in 1968, I have such fond memories of Miss Wehrle. Gym not being my favorite class, I was always encouraged to do my best. Her patient personality, kind gestures, and genuine love for children was evident throughout my attendance. Her patience was something I drew from as a kindergarten teacher.
Having invited her to our 50th reunion this coming June, we are so sad that she passed months before being able to attend....

Mrs. Frankel was my P.E. teacher at Jahn in he later 60's to early 70's. She was also the leader of our saftey patrol. I am sure that she knows the impact she made in so many of our lives, but for me, she was more than just a teacher. She befriended me and trusted me - something an awkward kid needed to send him on his way in this world. Love to you Mrs. F!

My sincerest condolences to Mrs. Frankel's family... May she Rest In Peace... She was my gym teacher pretty much my whole time at Jahn School from kindergarten through eighth grade (Class of 80). She was a wonderful teacher and loved by many

So sorry for the loss of her. She was a great PE teacher and she will be missed. Emily Cruz class of 1992
