Martha was one of the most kind and generous souls I never met! Two years ago she responded to a query I posted on the Rockbridge County genealogy board and not only helped with the question I posted but took it upon herself to research my relatives, take photos of their tombstones and houses, send photocopies of news articles about them and track down resources in the Washington and Lee archives. She refused payment or reimbursement for her expense and helped me in invaluable ways. A true...

Dear family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Martha. I had a year and a half e-mail and phone relationship with her. I also had the privilege of meeting her last October. She was an invaluable help to me in my research on the Saville family. There is a big whole in my heart right now. She was special.
