Nashville - Martha Elizabeth Webster, age 97, passed away on October 8, 2019 in Nashville, TN. She was born January 9, 1922 the daughter of Richard Samuel Hopkins and Ritha (Murrell) Hopkins both whom preceded her in death.
Martha married the love of her life Sherman Willard Webster at the age of 16 and they were married 58 years. She worked in shoe sales for many years in the Nashville area. Martha was known to be an excellent cook and she was famous for her fried chicken. She was an avid bowler in her younger years. Martha enjoyed spending time with her family and hearing how things were going in their lives, she will be greatly missed.
Martha is survived by her sons John R. "Dickey" Webster (Judy) and Harry S. Webster (Sue) and her brother Jimmy Hopkins, she is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband Sherman Willard Webster, her son Tommy Webster, sisters Dot Kelley and Ruby Bracey and brothers George Hopkins and Sonny Boy .
Martha's Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2019 and Monday, October 14, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, Tennessee 37216.
