Marvin Ray Blackmon born February 12, 1956 in Mobile, Alabama and departed this life on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. Marvin was a self-employed as brick mason, who spend his free time fishing. Marvin attended school in Marengo County where he lived with his grandparents. After graduating, he moved back to Mobile. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delia Smiley and Johnnie Earl Blackmon; brother, Johnnie Bruce Blackmon; a nephew, Terrence Fenderson; his longtime companion who preceded him in death by 39 days, Loretta Faye Alexander; and uncles and aunts, Robert Lee, Burl James Smiley, Jethro Pennington, Maggie Smiley, Hodie Gray Smiley Carter, and Mary Lee Smiley Dixon.


He leaves to cherish his memory a loving family, children, Domikki Marks (Montez, Sr.) Andry, Marvin, Jr. and Chad Marks, Krystal Benjiman, Contessa, Kevin (Anita) and Quenton (Deonica) Alexander; siblings, Alvin Blackmon, Patrick Blackmon, Willean (Ernest) Bush, Dianne Johnson, Ronnie (Anita) Blackmon, and Mavis (Harold) Jones; grandchildren, Montez, Jr. and Da'Mylon Andry, Tchernavia Ray Marks, Adrian and Mikia Benjiman, Ridricus Haynes, Cadeidra Lindsey, Calexis and Caliyah Alexander, Quincy Green, Londone Washington, Jerell Robinson, and Zy’Ana Washington; aunt, Dora Blackmon; nieces and nephews, Zareka, Nakia, Daqunette, Charles, Alvin, Anita and Alvin Blackmon, Jr., Shonda (Todd) Johnson, Lonnie (Winter) and Earnest Bush, Roy, Termenika, Tracy Johnson, Tony Blackmon, Johnnie "Pop" Fenderson, Darrius Blackmon, Harold, Jr., Tabitha and Samantha Jones, Ahmed (Hasani) Wiggins, Kierre Williams and Leah (Derrick) Stallworth, Termanicka Ellison, and Roy Love; a host of other relatives and friends, devoted, Sandra Marks along with the Marks family, Isaac Crumb "Ike", Bertrand Abney, William Craig and our neighbors on Sanders Road.
