Not sure what to say?

I was in Marvin's gun crew in Vietnam. He was our gun crew leader. Best person I Served with. Always liked to have discussions with people. I have pictures of him and our gun crew. About 12 to 15 we on the computer at work I looked up. Got his phone and talked about old times people we served with. Was great to talk to him. Sorry for the loss of great and special man.

Although I did not go to the post office very often I always enjoyed being there because Marvin was behind the counter. Our family moved here about 5 years ago and he was the first one to help me transfer all the mail and helped me with the arrangements. I always loved the down home atmosphere that Marvin provided. His passing is such a shock to me... He will be missed!

Marvin always had a smile & a kind word to say wherever you saw him.He loved his family dearly & was so proud of them.He was a person who made your day like a ray of sunshine. God gained & angel & left us & his family with wonderful memories. Our prayers & sympathy are with each of you

Marvin, you lived your life well. You did a good job. You showed us a better way. You made a difference. Good work.

I have waited on Marvin for many yrs, I worked at Country Kithchen for many yrs then went to work at Famous Anthony's, he always came in with a smile and was never one to complain, he was one of those people that we wanted to wait on because he was sure to make you have a better day, he always had something nice to say, I will miss so much, my mom would come all the way from blacksburg to his post office just because he was there and it just made the trip worth it, he will be missed by both...

There are no words to describe the loss that everyone that knew Marvin has suffered. You all are like family to me and I love you all!

Sweet Jarels Family... I am so sorry to hear of your great loss. It has been many years since I last saw Mr. Jarels, but I remember his warm smile and sweet disposition. I cherish his precious daughter, Melissa. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all!

I was saddened to learn of Marvin's passing. There can be no other gentleman like him. He would always lift my spirits when I cam into the post office.

My condolences to his family.

I am sending Marvins family my thoughts and prayers. I will miss him deeply, this man always had a smile and kind words for everyone. He was a hero to our country and to this town. I ask him how he could remember everyone by name, he gave me a very simple and special answer, he said "because i think of everyone as my friend". Rest in peace my friend. you are missed and thought of often.
