Mary Josephine "Josie" Kilbane Ahmad, age 71. Beloved wife of 45 years to Dr. Muzaffar Ahmad (deceased); dearest mother of Soraya, Jamsheed "J.P." (wife Shani), and Daanish "Dan" Ahmad (wife Mary); loving grandmother of Damian William, Nolan Muzaffar and Molly Marian Josephine Ahmad; dear sister of Patricia Chen (deceased) (Ying Chei, deceased), Jean Stewart (Kenneth, deceased), Bridget Robbins (Norman), Edward Kilbane (Virginia Ann), Eileen Gordon (Barry), Margaret Began (Gary) and Sean Kilbane (Debby); cherished sister-in-law of Mumtaz Peerzada (Tanveer), Asmat Fazili (Mushtaq) and Musood Pirzada (Michele); adored aunt of over 30 nieces and nephews. Born in 1948 to Edward and Angela Kilbane, Josie spent her childhood in the West Park area of Cleveland, running around her neighborhood and the nearby Metroparks with her seven siblings. After graduating from St. Joseph's Academy, she completed training as an x-ray technician at St. Vincent Charity Hospital. Her career would lead her to a position at Fairview Hospital, a job that would have the added benefit of introducing her to Muzaffar Ahmad a handsome doctor newly arrived in Cleveland from Kashmir. Their marriage would lead to her most prized roles in life, that of mother and grandmother, or Oma (Original Mary Ahmad), as her grandchildren called her. An avid golfer in her later years, Josie loved the game not for the competition but for the ability to improve and spend time with others. She tirelessly and freely gave of herself, through her countless years of volunteering and simply through the love that she shared. The family would like to give their sincere thanks to all of the care teams at The Cleveland Clinic. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Josie's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. All services private. The family will receive friends at the SCHULTE & MAHON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 5252 MAYFIELD RD., LYNDHURST (BETWEEN RICHMOND AND BRAINARD) FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 FROM 3 TO 7 P.M. Josie loved life and especially her grandchildren. Her face would light up when she talked about her children and her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
