Mary Ellen was a graduate of the College of St. Theresa, Winona, Minnesota with a major in English and a minor in Drama. Her life was filled with an appreciation of the fine arts. Mary Ellen loved the beauty of nature, but most of all, was devoted to her family.

We were so blessed by her life and love.

Not sure what to say?

Our sincere sympathy on the loss of your wife and mother.

Just heard your sad news, my heart goes out to you all. I will always remember how kindly Mel put up with us kids when we all tramped through your house and ate all your food and made too much noise at night. My deepest sympathies with all of you.

Dear Joe and family,
I will always remember the kindness that both you and Mary Ellen extended to me as a new young Sales Engineer in Mpls by inviting me to your home for for an excellent dinner and conversation.
When thinking about Mary Ellen her sense of humor and intelligence will always stand out. She was a very nice person to be with.
Pat and I were very glad that we got to spend quite a bit of time visiting with Mary Ellen at one of the JCI retirees get together of perhaps 6...

Dear Joe & Family,
Gail and I wish to express our heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. We did not know Mary Ellen well but we do feel for your loss of your lifelong wife and soul mate. You were very gracious to us in the early 70's when I was transferred to Milwaukee for the then Johnson Service Company. My career at JCI was better because you were a part of it.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.

Joe: Marcia's and my first trip to Milwaukee was for dinner with Mary Ellen and you, before you hired me. We were nervous. But Mary Ellen was kind and gracious, with a welcoming sense of humor that put us at ease. Marcia and I never forgot that. We met Mary Ellen a few times after that, and she was always the same, to everyone. That's just the way she was.
I grieve for your loss. Hold tight to your memories of 55 years.
Best, John Bobek

My heart goes out to you all in your time of sorrow.

Dear Joe, Jim, Dan, Pat and Lorie,
Words cannot express the friendship and love I received from Mary Ellen for over 30 years. She allowed me to share this precious journey with her, and taught me to face death with faith, dignity and grace. All of you, as well, graciously allowed all of us into your home and lives during this very intimate time. I am so grateful! Love, Susie

Joe, words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel in learning about Mary Ellen's passing. Pat says the best thing about our international trips together was Mary Ellen and her humor. She will be missed by all and I will never forget her oft repeated dictum upon arriving at an overseas hotel, "Hurry up Joe, ask for your faxes and call Milwaukee!"

For Aunt Mary Ellen.

Love, Patty Lewis
