Mary L. Gorski

nee Foster
age 91, of Lemont, passed away December 20, 2016, at her residence. Born April 19, 1925, in Joliet, IL. She attended St. Mary's Grade School and Providence High School. She was the Secretary and Owner of Theo J. Gorski Bus Company, established in 1915. Member of the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 5819 and Lambda Nu Sorority. She was very active in her children's school parent organizations and many other outside activities.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Wicke of Huntington Beach, CA, Karen Etzkorn of Lemont and Judy (Walt) Newbold of McHenry; three sons, Robert John (Carol) of Lemont, David (Diana) of Romeoville and Kevin (Wanda) of Downers Grove; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one niece, Peggy (David) Honaker of Texas; two nephews, Rick (Sara) Scholtes of Colorado and Thomas (Beth) Scholtes of Indiana.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Gorski; her parents, George and Johanna Foster; an infant daughter, Mary Ellen; a grandson, Michael Etzkorn; and a sister, Joann Scholtes.
Visitation Thursday, December 29, 2016, from 2 - 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont, IL 60439. Lying in state Friday, December 30, 2016, from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, 605 State St. Lemont, IL 60439. Interment St. Alphonsus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lemont Food Pantry, Lemont Parochial Schools (St. Alphonsus/St. Patrick/ SS. Cyril & Methodius), St. Thomas Hospice, Providence High School or the Mary Gorski Scholarship at Lemont High School.
