Not sure what to say?

Mary was a true mentor/friend to me. She hired me to be her contract administrator and I hired her to become my teacher. And she taught me alot. I only worked at UMMC for a short period of time. But I learned from her about how to be a manager and how to guide people to be the best they can be. After I left I stayed in touch with Mary and she always, always knew the right thing to say especially when I was going through a difficult period of my life. I will miss my friend. I will hold...

Mary Handley was a truly wonderful person. She was my boss at UMass Medical School and she treated everyone with kindness, respect and she always made time to listen. She was also incredibly wise and whenever I needed a different perspective, I always found her advice to be of great assistance, both professionally & personally. I loved visiting her office, because she had a wonderful collection of owls on every shelf. Even after she retired, we kept in touch and I will never forget her...

Mary was a wonderful person and a great co-worker and will be missed by many who loved her.

Mary Handley and I met on the day she started work at UMass and though many years passed in between my going back to work with Mary until I retired, we remained good friends. You included my family and became a role model for them as they grew to adulthood. We will never forget the wonderful times we had together nor the kindness you showed throughout that time.

Will miss you, but know that I am one of many who benefited from knowing you. Thanks, see you on the other side.

To Mary's family.....I am so very sorry for your loss. Mary was full of light and love and always had a wonderful curiosity and wonder and appreciation for the important things in life. I had the honor and privilege of knowing Mary through our working together at UMass and then in our book club. Mary was a very special person and I will miss her but will always keep her in my heart.

Sending warm thoughts to Betsy's family as you travel this difficult road.

Paul Murphy's daughter Priscilla.

Mary's "light" will be with so many people whose lives she touched. She will never be in darkness. Always have you in my thoughts and spirits. Love, Chris

Mary was one of the kindest person I've ever met. She had a gift for teaching those she supervised in the most mild mannered way and with a tremendous sense of humor. She hired me at UMass in 1980 and I will always feel indebted to her. May you rest in peace Mary.
