Not sure what to say?

I had the privilege of working with Mary at the Dept. of Public Health. She was a supportive co-worker, and I enjoyed many lively conversations and humorous moments with her. My condolences to her family.

My deepest condolences for the passing of Mary. I had the honor of working with Mary at the State Health Department. Mary was kind and gentle and extremely intelligent! She was a joy to work with. Prayers for peace and comfort during this most difficult time.

I valued Mary's enthusiasm and commitment to AAUW when she served on the AAUW Iowa Board of Directors during my term as Iowa President 2008-10. She was instrumental in writing the Des Moines Branch's grant application to expand Latinas al Exito (from its origination by AAUW in Marshalltown) to Des Moines. Now in multiple school districts, Al Exito Iowa has grown to become the largest student organization in Iowa that builds the leadership potential of Latino/a youth through college...

I had the pleasure to work with Mary at IDPH and to share a membership in the Unitarian church. A loss for us.

Mary was a successful mother, raising twin boys, a committed professional working in the Iowa Department of Health, and a person who cared for the welfare of others. I will remember her as one who would rather light a candle than curse the darkness.--Louise Lex

Mary was a very caring person, working to help others during her lifetime. May you cherish her memories and the God of comfort be with you.

With Deepest Sympathy,
A Loving Neighbor

I was in Toastmasters with Mary and have known her for the last 8 years. Mary was very dedicated to our club and to helping everyone become better. I will miss spending Monday nights with her.

My deepest sympathies,
