I remember your mother from many, many years ago. She and my mother were close friends when they were children. She wrote us such a nice note when my mother died in August. You have my deepest sympathy.

Mary, I will write you a snail mail note, but be assured that I remembered your Mother (fondly) at Mass when I heard of her death, and we prayed for her again this morning (Sat.) as she is laid to rest. Consider her soul "covered" in Catholic as well as Presbyterian church traditions!! She might see the humor of that. We had snow this morning, but I trust you had better weather today. This is very hard for you, and be assured of my ongoing prayers!! Sister Mary Joan Walker of Baltimore

The staff of LSU-Shreveport Archives and Special Collections expresses our deepest sympathy to the family of Mrs. McGuire, one of our greatest contributors and benefactors. She strived to preserve and make accessible the history of her family and northwest Louisiana, and we will always cherish her memory.
