Dear Sister Perpetua- yes, first grade, 1955. From the obit, she was not only young, but fairly new to teaching.Whoa to the misbehaving student who might, at worst, get a knuckle rap with the yardstick! Yet I remember her decorations and positive attitude making the classroom a welcoming and interesting environment. Thanks to her efforts, my love of reading to learn was given a solid foundation.

I have fond memories of Sister Perpetua. She was my first grade teacher at St. Aloysius in Shepherdsville. I remember her teaching me to pray with my hands folded towards heaven. I will pray for her family during this difficult time.
