Mary E. Odette

Mary E. Odette, 83, of 763 Meadowbrook Lane, died Monday, July 14, 2003, at her residence. She was born May 14, 1920, in New Holstein, the daughter of John & Annie Vogds Mauer. On October 7, 1941, she married George R. Odette in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1982. Mrs. Odette owned and operated Odette’s Tavern with her late husband for over 40 years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church. Mary was an artist, winning many awards, and was a member of the Fond du Lac County Artists Association.

Surviving are son Robert G. Odette of Fond du Lac, who was her caregiver for the last four years, a daughter, Donna L. (Wayne) Pieper of Minocqua, and three grandchildren, Steve and Jason Odette, and Kristine Pieper. Her parents, husband, a son, William, an infant sister, two sisters, and a brother preceded her in death.

Visitation for Mary E. Odette will be on Wednesday, July 16, 2003, from 9 to 11 am at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word services will be at 11 am at the funeral home.
