Mary A. Schmidt, 96, of Whitehall, formerly of Nazareth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, surrounded by her family. Born on September 9, 1926, in Stockertown, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Milisits) Teklits. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin "Dutch" Schmidt, in 1994. She was employed as a seamstress for Lehigh Frocks in Nazareth. As a young adult, Mary worked at her favorite job as a lab technician for Magnetic Windings in Easton. She was a long-time resident of Nazareth and faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth, where she served as Eucharistic Minister for several years. Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and an excellent caretaker. Survivors: Mary is survived by her daughters, Michele and husband, Ronald Jazowski, Cynthia and husband, George Toth; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband, Craig Baldino, Eric Jazowski and companion, Amy Michelli; great-grandsons, Paul and Damian Jazowski; close family friend, Amy Jazowski and companion, Mitch Solomon; sister-in-law, Mary Teklits McMahon; and many loved nieces, nephews and friends. Mary is preceded in death by siblings, Helen and husband, Carl Moeller, Joseph Teklits, and also special friend, Joseph Verenna. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 13th at 12:00 noon in the church, 410 W. Center St., Nazareth. Family and friends may gather on Tuesday from 10:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton. Online condolences may be offered at www.reichelfuneralhome.com. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Shriners Hospital for Children in loving memory of Mary.
