Not sure what to say?

I knew Mary Windley for six years- 7th grade thru high school. We first met at "the club", a small group of 7th graders learning how to dance. We met on Saturday nights at the homes of the girls in the group (Mary Windley, Karen Crawford, Emma McCotter, Gary Maxwell and others and boys I have forgotten.) Her class,1952, was very fortunate to have her as a leader and doer. I was very fortunate to have her as a close friend. Although we all went many separate ways after graduation and saw...

Dear Rollie and family,

My husband, Charles, and I send our deepest sympathies for your loss. Mary Windley and I enjoyed sharing fond New Bern High School memories during our 50th reunion. She kept that dear sweet personality and grace through the years. She will be greatly missed by all. May God's peace give you comfort during this time of sorrow.

In God's love,
Joyce Ann Boyd Granger

May the Great Comforter give you healing and comfort real soon.
She was a jewel.NBHS classmate

Rollie, I remember Mary Windley as the beautiful young lady who was my neighbor as a teenager and a wonderful friend. Your love for her was truly visible while visiting with you both during one of our class reunions. My thoughts and prayers go with you at this time...

Mary Windley and I were classmates, and graduates of the Class of 1952 of New Bern High School, New Bern,NC.
I last saw her in October 2002 at our 50th Class Reunion. I will always remember how lovely, sweet, and gracious she was.
I extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Rollie:
Mary Ann and I share your grief at this time of sadness. I will always remember both your many kindnesses to Bettie Ann and me when we moved to and lived in Chapel Hill. Your and Mary Windley's friendship is something I will always treasure. Mary Ann and I are in Florida now, but hope to see you on a future trip to Chapel Hill.
Best wishes,
Spencer & Mary Ann Everett

Rollie,

You and Mary Windley were a big part of shaping my young years in Chapel Hill. The personal kindnesses that both of you showed to me during those years is remembered fondly and with great appreciation. Your visible leadership in the church and in the university were a wonderful example of what a strong family can do to serve and benefit the larger community.

You and your entire family are remembered in our prayers and thoughts.
