April 18, 1980 - February 14, 2025
Bellingham, Washington - With overwhelming sadness, we announce the death of Matthew (Matt) Aaron Laninga our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, age 44. Matthew was born April 18, 1980, to Herman and Ali Laninga, in Bellingham, WA. He is proceeded in death by his mother Ali Laninga. He is survived by his father Herman Laninga, sister Tammi Laninga (spouse Patrick Gillham) of Bellingham, WA; sister Geralyn Cunningham (husband Michael) of Telkwa, BC; and four nephews and five nieces. A celebration of life is planned for April 19 at Bloedel Donovan Park Multi-purpose Room, 5:00-9:00 PM. The program starts at 6:00 PM. I was just telling my kids about Matthew yesterday and I'm so sorry to see he's no longer with us. I loved playing with him when we were little. I'm so sorry.

So sorry to hear the passing of your son. I didn´t know him. But want you to know I´m thinking of you and your family. Cherish the memories and special time you had together. You were one of my favorite teachers at Mt. Baker. History class. RIP MATTHEW
