Matt was my stepson for 23 years. I was only 24 years old when I got married to his father of three children. Thought I was ready for everything and anything. My condolences are extended to Matthew's family. Although I did not know Matthew, I knew many members of his family. I am good friends with his Grandfather, Arne Olson, who is my next door neighbor.
When a man loses his wife, we call him a widower; when a woman loses her husband, she becomes a widow. But there is no name for a parent who loses a child - I guess it's just too awful to think of.
My heart goes out to Matthew's family.

Matty was an amazing person who had a great out look on life, who could walk into a room and fill it with light and laughter. It is so sad when the best people leave us too early. Matt was definitely one of the best in the world, whose talents will be missed. His attitude in life was very uplifting and influential in our lives.
