Not sure what to say?

Matt was a good man, smart, hard working, and always with that grin. He was my good friend. We will all miss him.

I did not know Matt very well but we did work on a project together at Mystic seaport about 10 years ago. Our assignment was to go to a huge movie studio in Brooklyn NY to pick up a set design that was made for the film "Burn After Reading" starring George Clooney. The set was a yacht interior mounted on a complicated $$$ hydraulic mount that simulated the movement of open ocean while the bedroom scene was being filmed from the outside port windows. Matt, Hank and I numbered each part,...

It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to Matt Zapp. Matt and I worked together for many years at Mystic Seaport Museum in the shipyard area on projects from the smallest boats up to the C.W.Morgan and even the Mayflower2. We had many adventures together and as a friend of ours would say, most of which we wished they had happened to someone else! Matt was a talented and smart craftsman and I will miss him very much! Had a lot of fun working with Zapp at e.b.. My condolences and respect for his family and friends. Charlie Bruno

Matt, my buddy, my pal, my boat driver. Mat was my friend that always help me with things I needed to do but didn't really want to do. He was always quick with a joke and had lots of information about stuff that really didn't have anything to do with what we were doing. That's why I loved this guy, Mat made my time at Mystic Seaport more fun than a barrel of monkeys. My sincere condolences to Shirly and Matts family, he will be sadly missed. Donna Kelly

Matt was a fantastic friend. I´m going to miss him. I will never forget my "friend, who grew up in the same neighborhood, 30 years apart". I loved him very much.
