Not sure what to say?

Merle was my best friend in junior high, I stayed with the family whenever my folks went on vacation. I remember the wonderful morning meals. Although we lost touch over the years I always thought of Merle as one of my best friends - Penny Smith Fox

We were shocked when we heard of Merle's passing. Just seems like last month mom, (Janet Matthies) and I ran into Merle and Shannon at Shoko! We always kept in touch either there or at Smith's! I will never forget the sound of your mom's voice, it is one that just sticks with me. Thoughts and prayers are with you all on this event in life.
Shannon Matthies Smith, Tim Smith, Janet Matthies

Dear Dale, Shannon and Boys, It just doesn't seem real that Merle has passed on. She has always been larger than life, a friend and mother to all! Merle always had the best advice, fun sense of humor and a loyal friend to my mother for so many years! I will miss her presence but I know we will all have an angel in heaven looking out for us. May you have the spirit to give you peace at this time. Karen Douglas Anderson

Dale, You will be the only one that may remember me. Mona was my best friend all through high school, and I practically lived at you house. Your parents were role models for the kind of marriage Neil and I wanted. We had lots of good times with you and Merle also. Though we lost touch while we traveled during Neil's military service, We called your mother occasionally over the years, and she kept us up to date with you all. Our Prayers are with you and all your family members. Neil...

Dale and Kids, I loved your mom! I will never forget her laugh and all the good times she and my mom shared. They were so funny together and always had a good time. She was so awesome with my mom when my Dad passed away and was such a dear friend to her. I am thinking of you all at this hard time.
