Mr. Michael J. Brinker, Jr. 70, of Clark, NJ, died Sunday July 20, 2014 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Funeral Mass Thursday, July 24 at 11 AM at St. John the Apostle Church, Clark. Visitation Wednesday 3 PM to 7 PM at the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Avenue, Scotch Plains. For further information visit www.therossifuneralhome.com.
Michael was born in Newark, lived in Union, Elizabeth and Rahway before settling to Clark in 1984.
He received his Master of Civil Engineering from Newark College of Engineering (NJIT).
Michael was a Lic. NJ Professional Engineer and served a Consulting Engineer for Elson T. Killian Assoc. from 1966-1977. He was then Chief Engineer and Executive Director for the Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties from 1977-1995. Michael worked for Paulus, Sokolowski, and Sartor Consulting Engineers as a Consulting Engineer from 1995-2002. He retired from Rahway Valley Sewerage Authority as Chief Engineer and Executive Director in 2010.
Michael was a member of the Water Environment Federation and the NJ Water Environment Federation.
Michael is survived by his wife Rose Brinker (Lombino); his son Christopher; daughter Joanna; his sister Judy Doody; and many Nieces and Nephews.
