Not sure what to say?

To Mr. Burns family, I am so very sorry for the loss of a husband, daddy and Pa Pa. I will pray for you on a daily basis for strength and peace of mind. I was a student at THS and didn't hear about this until day, and now I wish you peace as the days come.

I am shocked and so saddened to read this today. I loved Mike and all the family - prayers to everyone and know that my thoughts are with you all.

Keep playing the music, Mike!

You tought so many so much! Not just about music but how to be a truly good person! You will be missed!

Students and parents in TATUM and the entire region were inspired to do more and be more than had ever been expected. Lets face it he saved not only a dying band program but a group of young musicians who had seen the worst. His arrival in 1980 ? (I think)was the beginning of a new era of pride and an almost spontaneous eruption of hard work through countless hours on and off the field. We all owe Mike our thanks and respect. His leading by example and challenge impacted us in ways we will...

If the world could be only half full of men like Mike...would be a wonderful place. He will be missed by many, BUT Loved always by all. So sorry for the families loss.

Mike was such a talented and sweet man. When he was at THS the halftime entertainment was as good as the game. The Methodist Church was blessed with beautiful music from him and Shawn. We married our children and buried our loved ones to their beautiful music. Tatum was so lucky to have him and he will be missed.

I can never remember one single time that I didn't laugh when I was in Mike's company.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
