I knew Michael as Mr. Cartwright. He was a long time member of the Downtown YMCA. I worked there for many years and loved talking to him. We always chatted and I loved those conversations. I did not know he had passed until I read the notice today. I actually saw someone on the street today that made me think of Michael. I guess he was saying hello from heaven.

Michael was a dear friend of mine in the early part of the 1970's. I will always cherish his memory, his warmth and intelligence.
