Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I'm so glad he had such a wonderful life after leaving Blacksburg. I knew Mike when he was Blacksburg my husband was a friend of Mikes. Since Mike was a bachelor he would come to our house for a home cooked meal and one or many games of Backgammon. I'm sorry we lost touch. I am very sorry for your loss.

My deepest sympathies to the Mansfield family for Mike's passing..Truly one of the best football players ever at Norview High School. His passing records in the Eastern District still stand to this day..Mike's 1967 Norview footall team finished 4th in state of Virginia..the closest Norview finished to a state championship..Who changes from an outstanding quarterback at Norview to an All American linebacker at North Carolina? Other than Mike....nobody..I am a Norview 1972 graduate..and when I...

So strange; for some reason yesterday, I thought of Mike, who I worked for at Sportime, and I decided to look him up on Google to see what he was doing these days. I remember the first time I met him - he was so handsome that my mouth actually dropped! He graciously took it in stride. Mike was a driven and brilliant businessman, but was also very generous by providing me with funds to take a certification exam, and he was willing to talk to me about some of the 'ins and outs' of running a...

I was so saddened to learn of Mike's passing last night. I was two years younger than Mike, played football with him one season at Norview and was one of many students who looked up to Mike and loved his entire family. He had an amazing work ethic and was a natural leader. Bob Tata always called Mike "our quarterback who's built like a linebacker." And he proved to be a good good linebacker at UNC. I was happy to catch up with him again in the 1980s when he was the strength coach at...

Coach Mansfield was my strength coach and RA at Va Tech in the 80's.
Though it's been years since contact, it saddens me to learn of his passing.
A blessing to have crossed paths with him
