Not sure what to say?

Birthday Buddy, How bizarre it was that we shared the same birthdate as cousins, not to mention the same year even, two counties apart, and if I remember correctly hours apart. I remember summers at Fish Lake, you tormenting me with seaweed and always dominating everyone and taking the title "King of the Raft" you had an amazing soul and I am forever grateful ours were able to cross paths! I love and miss you and always keep you in my heart Mikey. Love, Emmy

Just came across this. I went to basic training with Mikey, as he was one of my best friends through it. We surely would have been best friends before joining the Army despite me being about 6 years younger. Unfortunately I was deployed at the same time as him and heard the news in Afghanistan via another friend deployed in Iraq , as I was not able to learn of much more nor attend his services. It was a true honor to know Mikey as not many days go by that I do not think of him.. we...

To the Olivieri Family -

I am a Department of Defense employee. In observance of Memorial Day, our agency distributed yellow-ribbon lanyards with small cards bearing the name, service and date of every military member lost in service in the 18 years since 9/11.

I had the privilege of wearing the lanyard that displayed Mike's name. While I never knew Mike, I wore the lanyard proudly, and with the rest of my teammates, honored Mike throughout the day.

I hope you know that...

The 1st aniversary has past and I think of you often. We will never forget your Michael. This week his picture was on a tile for the purple heart vets please know he is in our hearts. God Bless you

Dear Cousin Mike,
When cousin Lou called to let me know what had happened, I was shocked. I didn't even know we had family in Iraq. I did post a breif message earlier, but it has taken me awhile to get over the lost of your son. I wish I had a chance to meet him, from the entries I have read, Mike is quite a person. I don't know how you and the family feel at the lost of a son, husband, brother, grandson, or cousin. Words alone cannot replace Mike that continues to live on in your...

Michael gave the ultimate sacrifice and will be held in the hearts of Americans forever. I cannot and will not let our fallen heroes be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to you. "Some gave all."

We love you so much, Mikey. We're sitting around talking about you and remembering our sweet son and brother. Miss you everyday, buddy. We always will. We love you so much.
