Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. - Lemont Obituary

Mike Rabka, 60, of Homer Glen, passed away suddenly, March 17, 2021. Mike started working at Coca-cola Bottling Company, then formed his own company, Hickory Oaks Construction. He was a hardworking man that rarely took time for himself. He was an audiophile, and the drummer in the band On The Loose. Mike loved motorcycles, road trips, and photography. He was known for being a prankster. Above all, his family always came first. He was a devoted husband and father. He was loved by all, and will be deeply missed.

Beloved husband of Carolyn, nee Bozek, Rabka; loving father of Sarah and Natalie Rabka; adored son of the late Ervin and late Ruthe Rabka; dearest brother of the late Rick Rabka, Vicki (Don) Schlegel, and Marcia (Joe) Edwards; proud uncle of Don (Amanda) Schlegel, Carrie (Greg) Sand, Garrett (Becca) Rabka, and Trevor Rabka; fond brother-in-law of Matt Bozek, Joe (Carrie) Bozek, Stan Bozek, and Theresa (Kenny) Bonner; and also survived by many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousin, and friends. Visitation Monday, March 22, 2021, from 3 - 9 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont. Funeral services Tuesday, March 23, 2021, 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Francis of Assisi Church for Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment St. Benedict Cemetery.

Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear about Mike's sudden passing! I always recall Mike having a smile on his face and sharing jokes with my dad when Mike would stop by our restaurant for a bite to eat. The world has lost a wonderful man.

I am so very sorry to hear about Mike. He was always so friendly and nice to me and my boys, whenever we visited Val and Tony and he was there. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

Peter and I are deeply sorry for your loss. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Mike will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was a talented and kind man with strong values and deep love for his family and friends. We will miss him dearly.

Our deepest sympathy to the entire Rabka family, but especially Mike’s wife and daughters. We only knew Mike through his sister and brother-in-law, who is my brother. Their love and affection for Mike was obvious during time we recently spent together. We are deeply sorry for your loss and wish you peace and comfort wherever you’re able to find it.
