Intelligent, funny, caring, thoughtful- Uncle Mike was all these things and more. It helps soothe my heart to read the good memories shared here. Gina and Rabecca- I don't get to tell you as often as the rest of the Shaws, but I love you both and you are in my heart and prayers always. Uncle Mike always made me feel accepted and "ok" just being myself, no mater how awkward or weird I was growing up. No pep-talks or anything in particular, just his demeanor and how treated me with kindness...

I hope you know you mean the world to our Me and our Daughter. I hope you will always remember the good times. I will see you in heaven one day. I will plant a tree in memory of you. I will always be thinking of you. Love, Gina

Mike was always in a great mood and probably the best sailor I ever knew.

I am so sorry to hear of Mike´s passing. The picture you selected for his obituary looks just as I remembered him; always with a smile. Many good memories of my days at Hopkin´s TV, delivering televisions with Mike in the blue Chevy van. Such a kind and gentle soul. You were all so kind to me. My heart breaks for your loss.
