Michael Shifflett Obituary
Michael was born on May 29, 1959, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to his parents, the late James C. Shifflett and Dorothy M. Shifflett. On August 18, 1981, he married the love of his life, Bernice C. Fisher. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bernice C. Shifflett; daughter, Michelle D. Shifflett, mother of his granddaughter, Amber J. Morrison, and her father, Jeremy Morrison; his son, Michael S. Shifflett and his wife, Rachel Shifflett.
Also surviving is his sister, Margie and her husband, Howard May; brother, Joe and his wife, Sharon Shifflett; sister, Linda Eder; sister, April Bailey; sister, Donna and her husband, Morrison Mooneyham; sister, Kara and her husband, Dennis Kolbaba; brother, Terry Shifflett; brother, Greg Shifflett; and sister Debbie and her husband, Marvin Painter.
Mike was a wonderful husband and a loving father, who enjoyed amateur radio, as one of his favorite pastimes, where he was known as KC4MZN, and later known as W4MWS. His faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was shown through his actions and he will be forever missed, by all that knew him.

Mike, All the times that you were here for me no matter how big or small my problem..... I am grateful. Not a day passes that I don't think of you and all that you did for our family. I didn't thank you enough, Mike. There are so many times I go to pick up that phone to call you. I know that you are in a better place, but I still miss you more and more with each passing day. Uncle Mike, I can't find the words to express how great of an uncle you were to me. I looked forward so much to the weekends we could come visit and have dinner with you, Sissy, and Granny. Growing up, always getting to spend evenings at your house are some of my best memories. You always made me eat my spinach. Sissy, Michelle and Micheal, I'm so sorry for your loss. I pray that God will ease the sadness. I know Uncle Mike is in heaven watching over you guys with Granny and Grandpa. Bernice and family, was so shocked to hear of your loss. Teresa Reinmiller told me yesterday, I can't seem to get you off my mind after hearing about Mike. He was so young, I can't imagine your pain. Losing you was a left hand hook shot to my heart. I can't imagine living life without you in it. All the times I called and you were there to help me figure things out. I am going to miss just picking up the phone and there you were. Each and every time you gave me good, sound advice. You were there for me, Marvin and Jessica, always honest and fair. Even though your pain must have been unbearable, you held strong for the love of Momma and your family. You are an amazing man, Mike. You married the strongest woman I have ever known..... Dad i am a loss of words. You were the greatest man i have ever known. You taught me what it is to be a man and how important God is to our family. You were our rock, our solid ground. Whenever I had a problem about anything I knew I could come to you and you would help me through anything. I know and trust in God because of your Faith in him and his son that you are in heaven. No matter how much I think I may need you here on earth with me I will always know that you are with me in my heart. I will live my Life like you taught me and showed me through your actions.
