Michael G. SparksMANSFIELD: The principles that Michael Sparks lived by, in his business life, in his social life, in his spiritual life were completely centered on Jesus Christ. He led a purpose-driven life to bring glory to God, to love his family, and to pack as much as he could into the time...

Not sure what to say?

Such good memories of Michael, whose name in Hebrew means "who is like God".
The last time I saw him was on the steps of Hughes Auditorium at Asbury University.
Such a loving and wonderful family.
Both of his grandfathers (Oscar Sparks and Bill Young) were good friends of ours.
In Christ, we are all not that far apart.
Terry and Judy Faris (Wilmore, Ky.)

Dear Christy (and daughters), Howard, Jand, and Lisa,
I never met Michael, but what I have read about him is very impressive. I send you my deepest condolecens, and lots of prayers so that God will make Himself especially present to all of you. God's love, your dear one's love, and time are the real healers, and this I know from my own experience.
Love to you all,
Yvonne Camacho

We can only imagine your heart pain right now. Praying God's arms tightly around you.

I got to know Mike while working together in the cafeteria at Asbury. He had such dedication for everything he did, whether it was academics, sports or just washing pots and pans. My prayers go out to his beautiful family. "Rest eternal grant to him, O Lord. May light perpetually shine upon him."

I only just heard of Michael's passing. I was blessed to know Michael at Asbury and for a short time after. I always appreciated his christ like demeanor and unique sense of humour. I especially loved that sideways rotation he had on his jumpshot.
Even though it has been many years since we spoke, I join the family in celebrating his life. It sounds as if he continued to be the man he set out to be years ago. May God bless you and your family in this time.

Dear Christy, Elizabeth, Julia, Anna, Howard and Jan,Susan and Lisa,

Our hearts ache for you all as you walk your way through this terrible experience. We are grateful that you are surrounded by people who love our Lord as you do, and we pray that he will give you comfort and sustenance through the days and weeks to come.

My heartfelt condolences to your family. I went to Omaha a few times with Michael, Reid, and my father to attend Warren Buffett's shareholder meeting. We enjoyed ourselves there. Michael was a good man.

I met Michael about 10 years ago at his financial office. I could tell from my first meeting that he seemed very detailed and organized. Just what I wanted in a financial planner. We worked together over the years. In 2006 my wife and our infant son were at his office. He was very comfortable with our son. In a follow up meeting he and I got into some "end of life" conversation about how to plan for such a situation. During that conversation I must share with your family that Michael without...

I have also been blessed to know him for just a very short time. I am so sad to hear this. Please inform the family that if they need anything please let me know.
