Miranda Lynn “Shorty” Kesterson, age 51, of Franklin, WV, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at her home. She was born on October 18, 1969, in Buckingham, VA, the daughter of the late Inez Belle (Henderson) Cash and the late Jim John Cash, Sr. On December 9, 2000, Shorty married Joseph R. Kesterson, who survives in Franklin.


 


Shorty was a graduate of Turner Ashby High School and had worked for the US Postal Service in Franklin, WV as a Mail Carrier and at Pilgrim's Pride in Moorefield, WV. Her passion was spending time with her family.


 


In addition to her husband, Shorty is survived by: 2 daughters, Cassandra Melody Bobo (Justin) of Franklin, WV, Sophia Marie Wayne (Mac) of Jane Lew, WV; 2 sons, J.J. Bocephus Bennett (Sarah) of Hollis Center, ME, Christopher Jesse “CJ” Bennett of Bruceton Mills, WV; 2 step sons, Joseph C. Kesterson (Amanda) of Franklin, WV, Marshall Gray Brooks of Franklin, WV; a sister, Sherry Hammonds (John Jr.) of Ballard, WV; a brother-in-law, Ronald Pine of Franklin, WV; 3 grandchildren, Brayden, Liam, and Baby Wayne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: 3 brothers, Christopher Robert Williams, Arnold Ray Williams, Jim John Cash, Jr.; and a sister, Zaneta Ray Wiliams.


 


In honoring Shorty's wishes, her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, 5-7 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV.
